The Dutch university that grew from the National Agricultural College of 1876 into the field's consistent world leader: first in agriculture and forestry in the QS rankings of 2022 and first in food science in the Shanghai ranking of 2017. Seated in Wageningen in the Netherlands, a small country that is nonetheless one of the world's largest agricultural exporters, it pairs a university with contract research institutes, and much of modern intensive horticulture, greenhouse practice and food technology traces through its work.
